The Latvian capital is the largest city in the Baltics. There is so much to discover in Riga. The Old Town, the historic centre of Riga is included into UNESCO World Heritage list. Despite being more than 800 years old this is a modern European capital that offers numerous open-air cafes, operas and concerts, brilliant architecture, from the medieval to the Art Nouveau, good shopping and small cosy restaurants. You also find vast green areas and parks in the city, numerous museums, a lot of theatres proving an active artistic life.

Day 1. Arrival to Riga
Arrival to Riga. Transfer to the Old Town. Three-hour walking tour of Old Riga to enjoy the beauty of this ancient Hanseatic city strolling through its cobble-stone picturesque streets. You will see a majestic Dome Cathedral, the steep tower of St. Peter Church, the old Guild Houses, the Swedish Gate, the architectural ensemble of Three Brothers, St. Jacob's Church, the Parliament House, Old Riga Castle, view many other nicely restored buildings, now housing cosy restaurants, cafes, bars and souvenir shops. Check – in at a centrally located hotel. Overnight in Riga.

Day 2. Art Nouveau quarter - Riga Market – Gauja National Park
Breakfast at hotel. Today you will visit the Art Nouveau quarter. It is a vibrant feature in Riga's history, with Albert Street truly the main gem. Each edifice there is a unique masterpiece of design and construction. Then you are invited for lunch break to Riga Central Market, which is situated in the heart of Riga, a few hundred meters from Old Town. An enormous complex of 5 zeppelin hangars offering smoked fish, black bread, pīrāgi, honey, birch sap juice, pickled cabbage and much more in a rollicking, friendly atmosphere.
Afternoon tour to Gauja National Park, often called the Latvian Switzerland, is located about 50 km from Riga in the Gauja River valley. Experience a genuine whiff of the Middle Ages, a time of romantic legends, castles and heroic figures, visiting the ruins of the 13th cent. Turaida Castle and Gutman’s cave. Return and overnight in Riga.
